Vero Pasta + Wine

November 5, 2024 Eat Drink Magazine

In the low-light glow of Vero Pasta + Wine, the aroma of freshly baked focaccia mingles with clinking glasses. Walls painted teal-blue are adorned with eclectic Italian artworks, providing a backdrop for carefully arranged wooden tables and chairs, creating an ambience both romantic and charmingly down-to-earth. It's an inviting space that feels like a quaint trattoria in Florence.

At Vero, ‘slow-cooked food’ isn't a trendy catchphrase; it's the culinary philosophy. Each dish, from the gossamer-light handmade pasta to the perfectly crisp thin-crust pizzas, tells a story of tradition and passion. An array of entrees and accompaniments enhance the mains, while classic Italian desserts including homemade tiramisu and gelato bookend the meal beautifully. The menu changes with the seasons, showcasing the best local produce, but beloved classics like the legendary Wagyu lasagne hold court year-round.

A small but tight-knit team craft an atmosphere where every guest feels like part of the Vero family.

From date night to family-friendly dinners – complete with a kids’ menu – or gatherings with friends, it’s a venue that adapts effortlessly. Fridays have become a local institution, with patrons unwinding over masterfully crafted cocktails or poring over the wine selection, featuring Italian varietals that perfectly complement the cuisine.

Whether you're dining in or grabbing one of Vero’s famous pizzas to go, every visit is an invitation to savour life's moments big and small, wrapped in the warm embrace of Italian hospitality.

Opening hours: lunch Friday-Sunday 11.45am-2pm; dinner Thursday-Sunday 5pm-late
